Outreach
Program, Willits, CA
Residence of this small town in Northern California needed to evaluate very
complex, technical documents regarding contamination by organic and inorganic
contamination. At the request of residents of the town, the California Department
of Health Services (DHS) invited BFK Solutions to provide an introduction to
chemistry, biochemistry, toxicology and analysis of hazardous waste contamination.
The goal was to allow residents to make informed, non-alarmist comments regarding
contamination analysis and proposed clean-up plans. The program was designed
for non-scientists and was enthusiastically-received.

Motion Picture Film Cleaning Options; Title V
• Surface quality
• Cleaning options
• Title V
• Regulatory options
• Technical intellectual property issues
BFK Solutions
has been involved in a number of projects involving the motion picture
film cleaning, surface quality, and regulatory compliance
and
options.
A major processor of motion picture film required regulatory assistance,
including Title V reporting. BFK Solutions assembled a team
to complete the Title V work.
In addition, given the available options for cleaning motion
picture film, the company also needed an advance application to evaluate
other
possible
cleaning
methods. The company was provided cleaning options; there was
coordination with the applicable regulatory agencies.
We conducted an outreach program to inform film processors of a new category in a Federal regulation, one covering motion picture film cleaning machines. This provided manufacturers with an opportunity for more favorable regulations. We have been involved in regulatory assistance to small to medium motion picture film processors. BFK Solutions evaluated the performance and economic implications of a South Coast (California) Air Quality Management District (SCAQMD) study. A report was presented to SCAQMD.
