Spotlight, Another Client’s Perspective
Barbara Kanegsberg
Encouraged by the response to an initial inquiry (Clean
Source Vol. II Issue 3, October, 2004), I asked Richard Petrulio of B/E
Aerospace what
it’s
like to work with BFK Solutions. In addition to being a client, Richard contributed
a chapter to the “Handbook for Critical Cleaning.” Richard told
me he’d provide a few comments.
Should I have asked?
Richard responded as follows.
Process development
BFK Solutions worked with us on general parts cleaning; and, more importantly,
on a very specialized cleaning process for which there was no reasonable
standard cleaning equipment.
What has stood out over the years of working with you is that you
go the distance. You’re there. I don’t have to go and track you down. You know how
it is when you are working on a project; and you just can’t get the attention
of someone. You leave a message; and they call you back two weeks later. That’s
never the issue with you. You always call back to see how things
are going. Beyond that, the expertise and breadth of assistance
have always been helpful.
You have developed the kind of networking within the industry,
a network that benefits the client. Your network includes
solvent and
water based
cleaning
agents, cleaning equipment, and an understanding of the people
and issues at regulatory agencies. During our projects, you
brought in
a multitude
of chemical
and equipment vendors into our facility for our consideration.
Ultimately, the goal is to have a good choice. You have a
tremendous resource base that you bring to a project. The
independent
information that you provide
has value; it has allowed me to decide how to proceed.
Seminars & “Handbook for Critical Cleaning”
You also conducted seminars for our customer base. It was
helpful for our customers to have expert input at a time
when we were
developing new processes for them
to use; you provided them with information that they
otherwise would never have had. Your seminars allowed our customers
to understand what
options were
available, the advantages and disadvantages of each,
and why we were
telling them to use a new, standardized process.
Your “Handbook for Critical Cleaning” is
always going to be there as an important resource.
The information in your book
and the advice
you
give teaches the reader how to walk through a process.
You teach critical thinking
as a skill.
I would definitely work with BFK Solutions in the
future.
